More than a fundraiser
What the cookie program actually is
The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world. Each year Benicia Girl Scouts use it to build confidence and real business skills while earning funds for troop activities, travel, service projects, and camp.
Girls run it themselves at whatever level fits their age — setting goals, taking orders, handling money, working a booth, and deciding together how the troop spends what it earns. They practice five skills throughout: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics.
Proceeds stay local. Money raised here supports Girl Scouting in Benicia and Northern California — it doesn’t leave the region.
The important part
Cookie flavors
Girl Scouts of Northern California is an ABC Bakers council, so our lineup uses ABC’s names — if you’ve moved here from a Little Brownie Bakers council, Caramel deLites® are what you knew as Samoas, Peanut Butter Patties® are Tagalongs, and Peanut Butter Sandwich is Do-si-dos.
- Thin Mints® — crispy chocolate wafers in a mint chocolaty coating
- Caramel deLites® — caramel, coconut, and chocolaty stripes
- Peanut Butter Patties® — peanut butter layers in a chocolaty coating
- Adventurefuls® — brownie-inspired, with caramel flavored crème and a hint of sea salt
- Exploremores™ — chocolate, marshmallow, and almond flavored crème
- Lemonades® — shortbread with tangy lemon-flavored icing
- Peanut Butter Sandwich — crisp oatmeal cookies with peanut butter filling
- Trefoils® — shortbread, from the original Girl Scout recipe
- Caramel Chocolate Chip — gluten-free; caramel, semisweet chips, sea salt
Council sets the lineup each season and it does change, so confirm against their list before planning a big order. Nutrition and allergen details are there too.
Support a local Girl Scout
Three ways to buy
Girl Scouts’ Digital Cookie shops open January 11; booths and in-person sales start once cookies arrive. The 2027 season runs through March 21, and there are three ways to get your cookies.
-
From a Girl Scout you know
The most direct route. If you know a Benicia Girl Scout, ask her — taking the order herself is the part she’s learning from.
-
At a cookie booth
Troops run booths at locations around Benicia through the season. No pre-order needed, just turn up.
Card, cash, Venmo, and PayPal are all accepted.
-
Through her Digital Cookie shop
Every Girl Scout can set up a personalized online store through Digital Cookie, offering shipping or girl delivery at checkout — useful if you’re out of town or buying for someone else. These open first, on January 11.
Don’t know a Girl Scout in Benicia? Council’s I Love Cookies page is the place to start during the season, or email cookies@beniciagirlscouts.com and we’ll connect you with a local troop.
Taking part
For troops and families
Council runs the training, ordering system, deadlines, and rewards. Start with their cookie resources, then bring anything Benicia-specific to us.
Cookie resources for sellers & volunteers
Our Cookie Rally on January 24 is the local kickoff — a cookie tasting and a send-off for the girls before the busiest weeks.
Not in a troop yet but want your Girl Scout to take part? Email cookies@beniciagirlscouts.com — girls can also participate individually as Juliettes.
